State Museum Hosts Curator's Tour of Photography Exhibition posted January 07, 2009

The Grammar of Landscape: Eleven Photographic Visions of Illinois continues at the Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery with special hours over the holidays.  The museum will be open its regular hours Sunday, December 21 from noon to 5 pm and Monday, December 22, Tuesday, December 23, Tuesday, December 30, and Wednesday, December 31 from 9 am to 5 pm.  The museum will be closed for the holidays Wednesday, December 24 through Monday, December 29, 2008, and Thursday, January 1, 2009.  Regular hours will resume on Friday, January 2, 2009. Eagle Exhibit Opens at Dickson Mounds posted December 02, 2008
The American Bald Eagle, an exhibit featuring stunning photographs of these magnificent birds by Jim Miller, will be on view at Dickson Mounds through April 1, 2009.  The exhibit consists of 20 large format color images, 10 panels describing the life cycle, habits, and ecology of Bald Eagles created by Dickson Mounds Museum exhibit preparator Kelvin Sampson and illustrated with Miller’s images.  In addition, three eagle mounts from the Illinois State Museum ornithology collection are highlighted. Archeozoological Research posted July 19, 2008
Dr. Terrance Martin continued zooarchaeological analyses for the Duckhouse site in the village of Cahokia, St. Clair County, Illinois, as part of the French Colonial Heritage Project being undertaken by the Illinois Transportation Archaeological Research Program (ITARP) and Sangamo Archaeological Center.  He is also overseeing analyses for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Archaeological Mitigation, Springfield, Illinois (Fever River Research).
