Recovery: "generally, improvement in the status of listed species to the point at which listing is no longer appropriate under criteria set out in section 4(a)(1) of ESA".
Recovery Planning - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) strives to recover Threatened and Endangered Species. For most species, we use recovery plans to guide our recovery actions. These plans also serve as a primary reference source for biological information on a listed species. Recovery plans may be created by Service biologists, contractors or a recovery team.
