OLES News

On September 30, 2002, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its Office of Law Enforcement Standards (OLES) commissioned its new Research Test Facility that is located in the Industrial Building on NIST's main campus. It was a challenging job, in part, because of some unique facility requirements related to the ballistic and stab tests. Support of the project was provided by the National Institute of Justice, NIST, and NIST's Electronics and Electrical Engineering Laboratory. The OLES facility was housed in an abandoned NIKE missile site adjacent to the NIST campus.
