Direct Broadcast Resources

Included in the Direct Access System aboard Terra and Aqua is the Direct Broadcast Service which is transmitting real-time data from the satellites to anyone within line-of-sight during most of their orbits. There is an approximately 15 minute window when the Service is down while the satellites dump their data. The Direct Broadcast Service is particularly useful to scientists who need data quickly [sooner than the normal 24-hour availability through the EOS Data and Information System (EOSDIS)] or who are unable to obtain the data easily from the EOSDIS.
