Two new assistant professors have joined the IE faculty this academic year.

Dr. Liu was the 2008 recipient of the William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Dr. Nof was awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa title by the Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania.

A team of eight Purdue graduate students, under the direction of Prof. Barrett Caldwell, won first place in a national NASA Exploration Systems Directorate competition.

Prof. Barany was presented with the IIE's highest award at an awards ceremony during this year's IIE conference on May 20th.

M4 Sciences, founded by IE Ph.D. student James Mann and Indiana entrepreneur Brian Gootee, has won the top prize in Indiana's most prestigious entrepreneurship competition.
