Welcome to the Global Engineering Program

The Mission of GEP is to

1. Articulate and communicate a working definition of preeminence in global impact for the College of Engineering (CoE)

2. Synthesize an integrated portfolio of opportunities, programs, and partnerships that support Purdue students and faculty to be leaders in the global network of engineering professionals

3. Ensure appropriate contributions of the College through its Schools to the related goals and metrics in Purdue Strategic Plan

GEP encourages and uses strategic global collaborations to improve Purdue Engineering programs, in particular to distinguish the competence of our graduates as preeminent global engineering professionals, while enhancing our reputation in the global academic community.

GEP designs and promotes global opportunities specifically for engineering students and professionals. We also work directly with College of Engineering faculty members and Programs for Study Abroad to develop study abroad programs and to provide resources for incorporating globalization into existing courses.

This 15 page summary and recommedation report is produced and written by GEP based on a National Science Foundation supported conference on International Research and Engineering Education. The conference was hosted by GPE and held on Nov 1-4, 2007 on Purdue West Lafayette Campus. It is attended by 117 participants from around the U.S.
