The Wyoming Business Council Agribusiness Division assists farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses with marketing, business development assistance and training programs. Whether through one-on-one consultation, small workshops or large conferences, the mission is to help sustain farm and ranch families. Specific Agribusiness Division programs are linked to three main functions within the division:

  • Leadership development and education for agricultural producers and agribusinesses;
  • Business development assistance to agriculture producers and agribusinesses;
  • Development and expansion of domestic and international marketing opportunities for agricultural products.

Agribusiness Programs

  • Ag Business Development and International Trade Development - The Business Council works with existing and new agribusinesses to increase their financial sustainability and assists in recruiting new agribusiness companies to Wyoming.
  • Ag Leadership Program - The Wyoming L.E.A.D. Program is a public-private partnership between the Wyoming Business Council and Wyoming Agricultural Leadership Council to develop leaders who will speak forcefully and articulately for agriculture and Wyoming communities. This 18-month adult leadership program is Wyoming's longest-running statewide program.
  • Cost Share Program - Organic Certification Grant Application - The Organic Certification Reimbursement Program of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Wyoming Business Council, is designed to help Wyoming processors with the costs associated in becoming organically certified.
  • Farmers' Market Program - By supporting farmers' market development, the Wyoming Business Council enables Wyoming farmers and ranchers to sell locally, which encourages community support for small businesses and keeps money in the local community.   • Forage Promotion Program - This marketing program showcases Wyoming's premium dairy-quality hay in the local, regional and national marketplace. Wyoming is known nationwide for its high-quality dairy and horse hay production.
  • General Agricultural Marketing and Promotion - The division promotes Wyoming agricultural businesses by producing a variety of promotional and marketing material.
  • Income Diversification Program - This program helps producers diversify their income as one way to sustain ranching and farming operations.
  • Livestock Genetics Program - Wyoming seedstock producers raise some of the highest-quality livestock in the world. The Livestock Genetics Program showcases these superior genetics in the domestic and international marketplace.
  • Livestock and Meat Marketing Program - This program assists producers in capturing more value from their livestock by providing technical assistance that is needed in the decision-making process. Examples include participating in a marketing alliance, direct marketing, or organic and natural production.
  • Organic/Natural Foods Program - This program assists in marketing the natural or organic goods that are produced using sustainable agriculture systems.
  • Rural Rehabilitation Program - Rural Rehabilitation Grants are used to improve the conditions of agriculture, rural communities and youth leadership through education and training.
  • Trademark Licensing Program - Through the Wyoming First Program, the Business Council has an agreement to use the Bucking Horse and Rider logo on its stickers and hang tags.
  • Value-Added Food Program - The program assists in marketing Wyoming value-added products, both internationally and domestically.
  • Wyoming Verified Program - Wyoming Verified provides an auditable information trail to authenticate data collected from a wide variety of livestock production systems and to validate marketing claims, including source & age verification.
