On May 8, 2007 NCPTT’s David W. Morgan attended the annual government-to-government consultation meeting held at Marksville, Louisiana, between the Louisiana Army National Guard and nine federally recognized tribal nations, the United South and Eastern Tribes, Inc., and members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Morgan, in concert with Alan Dorian (U.S. Forest Service) and Kent Schneider (U.S. Forest Service, retired) spoke on technology as a method for remote cultural site monitoring, surveillance, and risk assessment. Morgan also addressed NCPTT’s plans to host a symposium on the topic in 2007 and/or 2008.
