Seminars

Seminar in Pyramid room The Department plays host to a number of seminars. They provide a regular focus for staff and students in the department to come together with others from the wider research community for lively discussion and debate. Each research group run a seminar series and there is a departmental Research seminar series.

The Cities Research Group

The Cities Group seminars feature the best of urban scholarship and provide a lively forum for the exchange of ideas about urban change and process. Scholars from a wide range of intellectual backgrounds make up the programme. The seminars are open to anyone with an interest in cities.

The Environmental Monitoring and Modelling Group

The Environmental Monitoring and Modelling Group seminars usually take place on Fridays at 16.30 in the Pyramid Room (K4U.04, 4th Floor). Please check weekly emails for confirmation of exact timings. For further information contact Kate Parks.

The Environmental Politics and Development Group

The Environmental Politics and Development Group seminar series occur fortnightly on Wednesdays during teaching terms, 13.00 - 14.00 in the Pyramid Room (K4U.04, 4th Floor).

The Hazards and Risk Group

The Hazard and Risk Group seminars provide a unique forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas about the increasingly important research field of risks and hazards. The rationale for this seminar series is to provide research students and staff with an opportunity to present their own ideas/perspectives on risk/hazard issues to an interested, well-informed and diverse audience from various research units of King's and beyond.

The Research seminar series

The departmental research seminars take place on Tuesdays during the teaching term at 17.00 in the Pyramid Room (K4U.04, 4th Floor), Geography Department, King’s College London.

The Water Research Unit seminar series

The King's/ SOAS London Water Research Group is hosted by King’s College London and the School of Oriental and African Studies. The LWRG is devoted to the promotion of critical water research primarily in transboundary and developing contexts, and welcomes contributions from all. The Water Research Unit seminars are hosted at either King's College London or SOAS.
