Cornell Farmworker Program
The Cornell Farmworker Program located in the Department of Development Sociology within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is dedicated to improving the living and working conditions for farm workers and their families. This website also offers resources on issues involving immigration, social integration, English as a Second Language (ESL).

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs)
GAPs is a national program to assist growers in developing prevention techniques (practices) that will limit the potential for on-farm contamination of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Hispanic Milker Training Program
This milker training program is part of the outreach efforts of Quality Milk Production Services (QMPS) located in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell. It provides a two hour course to educate workers so they will have a better understanding of agricultural practices. The training is customized for each individual farm.

Profile of Hired Farmworkers - A 2008 Update
A USDA resource that provides demographic information about hired farmworkers which comprise one-third of the agricultural workforce.

National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS)
NASS which is part of USDA, provides agricultural statistical information collected during the 2007 agricultural census.

New York Farm Bureau (Ag Fact Sheet)
NY Farm Bureau, a non-governmental volunteer organization, provides an overview of regulations with respect to hired farm labor for farm owners.

PathStone Corporation (formerly Rural Opportunities, Inc.)
A non-profit community development and human services organization providing services to low income families and economically depressed communities. Also continues to provide services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers.

Farmworker Legal Services of New York, Inc.
Serves migrant and seasonal workers through direct representation in civil matters regarding employment and wage issues. Conducts extensive outreach to the migrant community in New York State.

Farm Employers Labor Service (FELS)
FELS which is affiliated with the California Farm Bureau Federation, assists its members in complying with labor laws and avoiding labor relation problems. It also provides resources in worker training (farm safety) and compliance posters.
