Purpose
To utilize four remaining days of an LA survey to survey two important areas of
Ship Island, MS (Camille Cut and Fort Massachusetts). This will be the start
of a larger effort assessing (quantitatively and qualitatively) the future of
these barrier islands
Information to be Derived
High precision single beam bathymetry (X, Y, Z) data; purpose being to acquire
the latest bathymetry to assist in calculating sediment gain/loss and barrier
island migration or degradation
Summary
Surveyed more than 220 kilometers of tracklines;
Collected 4 days of static base station occupation time on National Geodetic Survey (NGS) benchmarks
Notes
Ship Island Nearshore Bathymetry Pilot Survey
