The Health Services Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory provides a range of medical services and health programs to employees at the Lab, including

  • patient care
  • laboratory procedures
  • medical evaluations
  • physical therapy
  • occupational vision
  • emergency response
  • immunizations
  • hazard assessment
  • health counseling (wellness)

The ORNL Health Services Division is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). The Health Services Division Clinical Laboratory is accredited by the Department of Health and Human Services under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Program.

Our Mission and Programs

ORNL Health Services Division works to achieve and maintain the highest physical and emotional health for all employees in order to facilitate optimal job performance with minimal stress, thereby reducing absenteeism, enhancing productivity, and prolonging employees' productive years.

As part of our mission, we offer wellness programs to the employees of the Laboratory, including seminars on managing high blood pressure and diabetes and on smoking cessation.

The work of ORNL's Health Services Division is governed by ORNL procedures and by DOE Order 440.1A, Worker Protection Management for DOE Federal and Contractor Employees, Paragraph 19, Occupational Medicine and DOE Guideline 440.1-4 (06/26/97), Contractor Occupational Medical Program Guide for Use with DOE Order 440.1.
