Misson

The mission of the Agricultural Research Station is to generate scientific and technical information through research that will involve the application of innovative technologies seeking solutions to diverse problems relating to the sustainable production of economically competitive agricultural commodities.

Goals

  • Develop production systems that will conserve air, soil and water resrouces while maintaining agricultural productivity and diversity
  • Enhance training of students in food and agricultural sciences
  • Ensure a wholesome and affordable food supply
  • Provide knowledge enhancing international competitiveness for U.S. Agriculture
  • Evaulate new and alternative uses of agricultural and natural resources
  • Improve the efficiency of plant and animal production systems
  • Generate information enhancing the socio-economic well-being of rural communities
  • Enhance agricultural research faculty development

The Agricultural Research Station will fulfill this mission in cooperation with the academic programs, extension service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other federal and state agencies and the private sector.
