JST offers online learning materials on science and technology to help motivated engineers strengthen their own expertise and improve their knowledge.With approximately 640 themes, the learning materials cover the following major technical fields; life sciences, environmental science, nanotechnology and material science, information and communication technology, social infrastructure, mechanical engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering, and comprehensive technical management.

* Promotion of International Cooperation in Scientific and Technological Information Activities

JST takes an active part in international cooperation activities. Such activities include cooperation under agreements with foreign national governments and organizations, promotion of the distribution of information available within Japan to foreign countries and support for information activities in the Southeast Asian region.

Promoting cooperation in the Southeast Asian region
In order to assist scientific and technological information activities in Asia and the Pacific region, JST holds annual workshops and seminars (link to past workshops and seminars) with organizations engaged in scientific and technological information activities under the ministries of Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. This framework is called "CO-EXIST-SEA"(Co-operative Program for the Exchange of Experiences, Expertise, Information in S&T in South East Asian Countries). and started in 1999.
