As JST's activity base to benefit society by research result of universities etc., Innovation Plazas and JST Satellites promote "Regional Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration" and "Practical Application Research" to create new business through utilizing the innovative research result in the region and to vitalize regional economy through the technological innovations.

      With regard to creative research results of universities, national and public experimental research institute, etc., university's researchers, companies that promote new business, and research staff employed by JST jointly conduct research directed toward the practical application.

* Concept
A program scheme of the conventional CREATE has been changed. In a field of research where the great need of industrialization exists in a region, it is to implement individual research and development pursuing solution for commercialization through development of prototype or practical model applying the seeds of technology invented out of scientific research at university and others.

The program is to encourage innovation in a region so that taking advantage of available resources, such as the fruits of research and development, persons of talent and research equipment, prepared at the Innovation Plaza through implementation of the practical application research, development of prototype of practical use and research pursuing solution for industrialization in collaboration with industry, academe and public service should be implemented.
