Extension and Outreach

The Bioeconomy Institute (BEI) is involved in numerous extension and outreach activities. For example, the BEI sponsors the annual Growing the Bioeconomy conference that attracts economic development professionals, lenders, venture capitalists, biobased product manufacturers, bioprocessing engineers, agricultural producers, fuel producers, energy providers, and elected officials. The BEI also works closely with the BioEconomy Working Group, an organization that encourages the growth of a sustainable biobased industry in Iowa, and with Iowa State University Extension.
