RI 4-H is the youth outreach
education program of Cooperative Extension in the University of Rhode
Island’s College of the Environment and Life
Sciences. From the beginning, a
century ago, this youth-serving organization offered "hands-on"
learning activities for young people so they might become productive
citizens. Today youth participate in educational programs that are based in
Science and Technology, Healthy Lifestyles and Citizenship. There are many
more 4-H PROJECT
areas within those broad program areas. Self directed study and “Learning by Doing”
are key to the attraction and success of the 4-H program. Four-H members learn: biology concepts by
actually working with animals and plants, health by learning to read food
labels and fix their Bicycles and cooperation by working with their peers in
groups. These are some examples of the
programs and projects 4-H groups do. To Join 4-H click here to get more
