Snow Cover Anomailes- North America, Dec 2001 -February 2001

The North American snow cover anomaly product for December 2000 - February 2001 shows large areas of longer than average snow cover duration from the intermountain West eastward across the central Plains, the Ohio Valley, into New England. Some areas in northwest Iowa have had continuous snow cover since early to mid November 2000. A persistent snow cover during this three month period contributed to below normal temperatures across parts of the central and northern Plains.
