1.   Women and HIV/AIDS — Minority women have a higher risk of getting HIV/AIDS than white women. This web site explains why all women are at risk for HIV/AIDS. It talks about risk factors, prevention, getting tested, and common myths about HIV/AIDS. It also has a section for women living with HIV or AIDS. Women and their families can also use this web site or the resources it lists to learn more about HIV/AIDS and pregnancy, legislation and rights, financial assistance, research and clinical trials, personal stories, and AIDS worldwide.

2.   Healthy Youth!: Sexual Risk Behaviors — This fact sheet provides statistics on young adults, their sexual behaviors, occurrences of STDs and numbers of those infected with HIV. There are also resources for state and local programs listed on the website for further information on priority health risks among youth.

3.   HIV and Its Transmission — This publication discusses how HIV is transmitted. It examines transmission rates in different environments such as business and home settings and discusses the effectiveness of condoms.

4.   HIV Infection In Women — AIDS is the fifth leading cause of death for women ages 35 to 44 in the United States. This fact sheet addresses the special concerns that women with HIV/AIDS face.

5.   HIV/AIDS Among Women Who Have Sex With Women — This fact sheet discusses risk factors for female-to-female transmission of HIV, as well as potential prevention measures. Vaginal secretions and menstrual blood are potentially infectious, and mucous membrane (e.g., oral, vaginal) exposure to these secretions can potentially lead to HIV infection.

6.   HIV/AIDS Among Youth — This fact sheet discusses the prevention of HIV/AIDS among adolescents because in the United States, HIV-related death has the greatest impact on young and middle-aged adults, particularly racial and ethnic minorities.
