A state cost share program called the Forest Productivity Program will pay up to 50% of the costs for establishing a stand of timber, either pine or hardwood, depending on the site. One of the federal programs is the Wetland Reserve Program. It will also pay up to 50% of the costs to re-establish a wetland to establish or improve wildlife habitat. There are several other federal programs as well.

The Seed Inspection Fee is a regulatory fee on all seed sold in the state, used to defray the cost of regulating the seed industry in Louisiana.
