New Jersey NRCS Partnerships

NRCS believes in the value of cooperative conservation. Our agency works cooperatively with federal, state, and nonprofit groups that represent a diversity of expertise. As partners in conservation, we can blend our unique areas of expertise and conservation work to put more conservation on the land.


New Jersey Conservation Partnership

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) participates in the New Jersey Conservation Partnership, which jointly provides leadership to the State on conservation issues. As partners, we are interdependent, have independent responsibilities, yet are dependent on each other for successful delivery of programs. The NJ Conservation Partnership includes:

Opportunities for Conservation Partnerships through NRCS Programs
Requests for Proposals are announced on the Federal eGrants website.

WHIP Contribution Agreements -  NRCS can provide up to 50% of the cost for projects that enhance wildlife habitat through the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP). Contribution Agreements are described in the NRCS General Manual Section 610.

Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) - Opportunities are offered on both the national and State level.  Funded through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), these grants are awarded for innovative conservation approaches and technologies that enhance and protect resources in conjunction with agricultural production.

Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) - A voluntary program established through Conservation Technical Assistance (CTA) to foster conservation partnerships that focus technical and financial resources on conservation priorities in watersheds and airsheds of special significance.
