Aldo Leopold Foundation  From his Sauk County shack, Leopold wrote his famous Sand County Almanac, which served as the foundation of conservation policy and ethics.

John Muir - Muir spent his youth in Marquette County Wisconsin on the family farm before attending the University of Wisconsin.
