Partnerships
Conservation districts, the Idaho Soil Conservation Commission, and the
Natural Resources Conservation Service have forged a unique local, state and
federal partnership to help people get conservation on the land. They are bound
together by mutual conservation objectives, legislation and formal agreements
with the Secretary of Agriculture and the State. Employees usually share the
same office and phone number at the local level.
Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts (IASCD)
The Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts (IASCD) is a voluntary,
non-profit association of Idaho's 51 soil conservation districts. Organized in
1944, IASCD works closely with NRCS and the Idaho Soil Conservation Commission
to develop and implement conservation programs.
Idaho Soil Conservation
Commission (ISCC)
The Idaho Soil Conservation Commission was created in 1939 from Idaho
legislation originated to deal with the soil erosion crisis of the Dust Bowl.
Today the Commission's purpose is to provide support and service to Idaho's 51
soil conservation districts, unique units of local government that use state,
federal and private sector resources to solve conservation problems.
Idaho District Employee's
Association (IDEA)
IDEA's mission is to enhance communications, promote professional
improvement, and increase effectiveness of conservation districts and their
employees.
