Session Aide Registration

Session Aides serve a very important role as liaison between symposium organizers and speakers and AAAS Headquarters.

Students will work closely with AAAS administrators to ensure that the meeting runs smoothly, and will get the chance to listen to and meet a range of interesting people, including leading scientists, Nobel Laureates, popular authors, government leaders, and radio and television personalities.

Responsibilities

All Session Aide volunteers must attend the orientation session from
5:00 - 6:30PM on Thursday, 12 February

Your primary responsibility will be session monitoring. This includes estimating attendance; evaluating audience interest, session content, and speaker performance; and providing audio-visual assistance, if needed. Training will be provided at orientation.

Assignments May Also Include:

  • Assisting with crowd control at plenary lectures and special events.
  • Assisting judges and AAAS staff at the Student Poster Competition and the General Poster Session.
