Monticello Society

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) invites you to become a member of The Monticello Society. Through the Monticello Society, the College recognizes the generosity of its major benefactors who set a standard for commitment.

Benefits

  • Monticello Society members share the pleasure of partnership with CAFNR in preparing today's scholars and those of future generations.
  • All members receive a distinctive Monticello Society lapel pin. Sustaining members are presented with a striking Monticello Society medallion.
  • Members are honored at an annual Monticello Society event and receive dual membership in the Jefferson Club and Monticello Society.

Membership

Membership is open to alumni and friends of CAFNR. Joint membership will be offered in the case of husband and wife. Only donations to CAFNR qualify you for membership.

Sustaining Members

Six levels of sustaining membership are available to donors who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Contribute or pledge over 10 years one of the amounts listed below. All prior gifts to CAFNR and company matching gifts count towards membership. Irrevocable trusts qualify as outright gifts.
  • Provide funding by means of a bequest, life insurance or other type of testamentary gift.

Sustaining Membership Levels

Member $25,000
Fellow $50,000
Distinguished Fellow $100,000
Very Distinguished Fellow $250,000
Diplomat $500,000
Ambassador $1,000,000

Annual Members

Annual membership is offered to donors who contribute gifts of at least $1,000 during any calendar year. Memberships are renewable on Jan. 1. All annual membership contributions count toward sustaining membership requirements.

Gifts

Membership eligibility is established through gifts or pledges to any CAFNR department or program of the donor's choosing.

Designated gifts are invited for whatever fund or purpose the donor desires, provided such use is for legitimate College purposes.

Donors may also designate their gifts as unrestricted to support the priorities of CAFNR that cannot be met with state funds, such as scholarships, fellowships, research, faculty enhancement and many others.
