Alternate Fuels Rebate Program

The Alternate Fuels Rebate Program provides rebates to local governments who acquire an alternate fuel vehicle, convert an existing conventional vehicle to an alternate fuel vehicle, or purchase domestic renewable fuel to operate an alternate fuel vehicle. The Illinois Green Fleets web site provides additional information about the Rebate Program.

Brownfields

This program offers grants and technical support to communities for redevelopment of abandoned or underused industrial and commercial properties, called Brownfields.

Delegated Local Governments

The Waste Reduction and Compliance Section provides grant funding to local governments for oversight, inspection, and enforcement programs from the State's Solid Waste Management Fund.

Green Fleets

Local governments, businesses, and others can gain recognition for the use of clean, alternative fuel vehicles in fleets through participation in this incentive program.

Household Hazardous Waste Collections

These collections provide a free and environmentally sound method for citizens to dispose of potentially hazardous materials commonly found in the home. Local governments may cosponsor collections in their communities, with funding and contractor oversight provided by Illinois EPA.

Partners for Clean Air

This coalition of regional businesses, transportation organizations, health advocacy groups and local governments are committed to improving air quality and public health by advocating voluntary actions in the Chicago area.

Partners for Waste Paint Soultions

This partnership between Illinois EPA and interested organizations, including local governments, provides citizens with local sites to bring unused paint for recycling or reuse.

Priority Regional Groundwater Protection Planning Program

Site Remediation Program (SRP)

Participants in the SRP voluntarily clean up sites and receive Illinois EPA approval and release from further responsibility.

Used Tire Cleanups

Illinois EPA conducts used/waste tire cleanups for individuals and units of local government to eliminate the presence of improperly managed used/waste tires in the environment.
