Visitor Center Operating Hours & Seasons

Memorial Day  - Labor Day:
Open every day 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Winter Hours:

Beginning November 23rd the Visitor Center will be

Closed Sunday and Monday

Open Tuesday - Saturday from 9:00 - 5:00.

 

The Visitor Center is closed for all Federal Holidays except Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), and Labor Day.

The road leading to the Monument is a public road and is open 24 hours a day.  Access to the Monument closes at dusk.

Did You Know?
An in situ specimen of Clemmys owyheensis (pond turtle) was found out in the Monument. The field crew also found a jaw with several teeth from Thomomys gidleyi (pocket gopher) and a jaw from Trigonictis idahoensis (grison from the weasel family).
