About Us
The Office of Small Business was established in 1994 with the task of
promoting voluntary compliance with environmental regulations among the
small business community.
To accomplish this task, the Office of Small Business:
- Opens channels of communication with small businesses, trade associations
and business organizations,
- Provides free guidance in response to questions and concerns raised
by small business owners via our Toll-Free Environmental and Online
Helplines,
- Publishes plain languge fact sheets and guides with information specifically
for small businesses,
- Acts as an advocate for small businesses within the Illinois EPA.
We strive to create an environment where businesses feel comfortable
asking for help with their environmental questions. Businesses can even
remain anonymous to protect their privacy when contacting us through the
Toll-Free Environmental and Online Helplines.
