About Internet-based Services

The internet can provide an inexpensive way to increase knowledge and reach more customers without leaving home, but many farmers are not taking full advantage of this tool.

Southern SAWG, in partnership with the USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA), launched the Internet-Based Services project to assist Southern farmers in utilizing the Internet.

This project is designed to address the special needs of family farmers, including those who are not "computer literate," and to help them take advantage of all the internet can offer.

Internet Training

In cooperation with NCAT/ATTRA and other project partners, Southern SAWG has developed educational tools to demystify the internet, demonstrate its usefulness, and provide training in accessing and utilizing a variety of internet-based services.

Web Resources

Southern SAWG provides a variety of on-line resources, including links to technical information and discussion forums that farmers can access for free through the World Wide Web.

Online Marketing

Take advantage of online marketing opportunities through Local Harvest, New Farm, and others that offer free web listing services and marketing support.
