Residential Energy Maps

Residential Energy Maps display annual household consumption of natural gas, fuel oil, electricity, and motor gasoline, as well as weather indicators (heating and cooling degree-days and precipitation). Consumption data are as of the year 2000 and weather normals cover 30-year periods (1971-2000 for degree-days and 1961-1990 for precipitation).

The Residential Energy Map series includes maps of each of the nine U.S. Census Divisions. Links to the maps and to a list of sources of data used to create them are provided in the sidebar to the right.
