Graphing Changes in Marine Life Abundance
Welcome to Working with Real Data! In this hands-on activity, students
work with real data collected by scientists at NOAA’s National
Ocean Service, who are studying the ecological recovery of
Prince William Sound following the Exxon Valdez oil spill. From
photos of sampling quadrats at
Mearns Rock, an oiled shoreline boulder,
students record the abundance of
marine intertidal organisms, graph the data and interpret their results.
