Academic Programs

Agribusiness Academy

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) Agribusiness Academy is designed to provide students with real-world experiences in various areas of agribusiness and its related programs. Any student in the College who has an interest in agribusiness may apply to participate in one or both of the following programs:

  • Dickinson Scholars Program
The Dickinson Scholars Program provides an opportunity for CAFNR sophomores to become acquainted with the Kansas City agribusiness community. More
  • John E. Brown Scholars Program
John Brown Scholars are a collection of highly motivated students from various backgrounds who are eager to take part in a program that exposes them to the corporate side of agribusiness in St. Louis. More

Executive-in-Residence

Envisioned and endowed by the generosity of the Reich family, this one-on-one interaction offers a rare life experience for students and the Executive-in-Residence. The program, inaugurated in Feb. 1997 by faculty and staff as a collaborative learning experience for students, takes place in an informal environment that allows participation to be spontaneous and infectious. More

Honors Program

The CAFNR Honors Program is designed for high-ability students who are motivated to seek an individualized learning experience. One of the most distinct advantages of the Honors Program is that, for some degrees in the College, it allows a more flexible program of study, in addition to increased contact with faculty and the opportunity to conduct research. More

McNair Scholars Program

The McNair Scholars Program prepares undergraduates for graduate study by providing a paid undergraduate research internship with a faculty mentor. Students have travel opportunities (conferences, graduate school fairs, campus visits); workshops on how to get in and succeed in graduate school and a stipend of $2,800. More

Research Internships

Paid research internships are available in CAFNR to provide opportunities for undergraduate students to gain research experience on campus. More
