Ray McDonald

Ray McDonald grew up in Reno, Nevada, where he began his broadcasting career in 1979 at KUNAR -- the University of Nevada's radio station.

The following year, Ray worked overnights at Album rocker KOZZ, then departed for San Francisco, where he attended school at San Francisco State and spun punk rock at the college station, KSFS.

In 1984, Ray journeyed east to the Voice of America for what he thought was a summer internship. He received a permanent position as host and producer of VOA's Now Music, U.S.A. Not only did the job enable him to meet some of the world's greatest artists, it also gave him the opportunity to meet his wife, who initiated the relationship as a pen pal from Calcutta, India.

Ray treasures contact with all listeners and hopes to make your acquaintance soon.
