The 2009 AAAS Annual Meeting Newsroom, to be located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chicago, will offer an array of news opportunities and resources: Embargoed News Briefings Daily briefings about breaking research being presented at the Meeting will provide press registrants with access to the world's premier scientists. Please note: All newsroom registrants are required to observe embargoes, which will coincide with the date and time of the scientific session or related news briefing, whichever comes first. A full schedule of news briefings will be available to registered reporters who have EurekAlert! access via the AAAS Annual Meeting virtual newsroom, to be housed on the EurekAlert! Web site beginning Monday, 9 February 2009. All press registrants also will receive a complete schedule upon arrival. Attendance at press briefings is restricted to press registrants only. Reporter Workrooms Special press workrooms will be equipped with Internet access, computers, printers, phone jacks and phones (credit cards must be used when dialing long distance). Library Newsroom registrants will have full access to copies of speaker presentations and background materials, via an on-site Papers Room. Embargoed news releases from AAAS, academic institutions and other scientific organizations will be available on-site, and also in advance via EurekAlert!. Coffee Lounge During Newsroom hours, complimentary coffee and tea will be provided. Private Interview Rooms At the Newsroom headquarters, reporters may request private rooms for interviews.
