Sustainable and Nurturing Communities
To promote policies for smart growth in suburban and rural communities.
To mitigate the impact of family and community stresses that place young
people at risk by developing individual, family, and community coping
skills.
Sustainable Agriculture at URI
The Sustainable Agriculture at URI office regularly makes field visits to consult with farmers regarding issues of crop protection, soil fertility and plant nutrition. Sustainable Agriculture at URI provides resources and technical support with the intention of making Rhode Island farms more economically and environmentally sustainable. Services are FREE and available to ALL Rhode Island growers regardless of size or type of production system.

4-H is a leader in youth development, which began on the local level in
response to evolving needs for new kinds of educational experiences for
youth. From the beginning, this youth-serving organization offered "hands-on"
learning activites for young people so they might become productive citizens.
Youth participating in 4-H activites have opportunities to offer positive
contributions to our diverse and changing society.
