What is AMICO?
AMICO (Italian for "friend" and pronounced like ah-MEE-ko)
is the Art Museum Image Consortium, a unique collaboration of art-collecting
institutions. Together, we've formed a not-for-profit organization to
enable educational use of our digital multimedia documentation.
What type of institutions may join AMICO?
Any organization with a collection of art can be an
AMICO Member. Membership will grow over time to include institutions of
many types from around the world.
By participating in a collaborative environment like AMICO,
Members:
- Expand the number and range of
educational users of their collections
- Minimize risks and share rewards
- Build competency within their
institutions
- Receive a free subscription to
The AMICO Library for use within their institutions
See Member Benefits
for more complete information
Yes, Members pay annual dues to support the creation of The AMICO
Library and the running of the consortium. These dues are tiered and based
