NRCS New York Welcomes Astor Boozer

Astor Boozer brings 21 years of diverse experience to the New York natural resources conservation partnership. His experience as Assistant State Conservationist for Field Operations in Sioux City, Iowa, has given him a well-rounded background and an excellent knowledge of natural resources programs, policies, and procedures.

Positions that Astor has held with NRCS include Soil Conservationist, District Conservationist, Assistant State Conservationist (Field Operations), National Program Manager, Acting Easement Programs Branch Chief, and Acting State Conservationist.  He had worked in several states, including Texas, New Jersey, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas. Mr. Boozer has served on several committees in headquarters and provided leadership representing USDA-NRCS for the 2008 Presidents Earth Day Wetlands Report.

He has a farm and ranch background from Texas where he grew up working a cow calf operation, swine and vegetable production. He looks forward to working in the great state of New York, meeting conservation and environmental partners and becoming part of the conservation family.

Mr. Boozer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in General Agriculture from Prairie View A&M University.
