mission

Departmental Administration (DA) provides facilities management services for the agencies and staff offices occupying USDA's Headquarters Complex, the George Washington Carver Center, and USDA leased facilities in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The goal of DA's Environmental Services is to help sustain a high quality of life for all USDA employees and visitors by protecting and maintaining a healthy environment in USDA facilities. DA provides recommendations on the use of environmental clean up funds and promote the partnership with federal, state and local agencies, tribal organizations and private parties in prioritizing, planning, and carrying out environmental cleanup activities. Under this activity, DA participates directly in USDA Goal 5: Protect and enhance the Nations natural resource base and environment.

Environmental sustainability is a key initiative in USDA and Departmental Administration is USDA's leader in reconciling economic effectiveness, environmental performance and social responsibility.
