Advance registration rates are as listed below and are valid until Monday, 26 January. After that, on-site rates apply.

  1. Passport: Unlimited access to all symposia, seminars, topical lectures, plenary events, career workshops, and Exhibit Hall.

On-site registration will be located at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in the East Tower, Gold Level, Grand Ballroom Foyer.

How do I check on my membership status?

Call the AAAS Membership Office at 202-326-6417 or e-mail membership@aaas.org.

What if I have special needs?

A.

If you have a special need due to a disability, please indicate so when prompted on your registration form. We'll contact you prior to the Annual Meeting to make any necessary arrangements. For more information, please visit our barrier-free environment page.

Q.

What is the cancellation policy?

A.

Cancellations must be received in writing by 26 January 2009. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after this date. Refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee and will be issued after the meeting.

IMPORTANT: You will be required to show a photo ID in order to pick up your badge when you arrive at the meeting. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

AAAS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified.

How do I cancel my registration?

A.

Q.

I can't come, but a colleague wants to take my place. What should he/she do?

A.

If your colleague brings a letter or e-mail from you, we can swap registrations. A $25 processing fee will apply.

Badges

Q.

Will name badges be mailed out before the meeting?

A.

Yes, badges will be mailed in January.

Q.

I registered but I didn't receive my badge. What do I do?

A.

Go to the registration area to advance registration to get a new badge. Be sure to bring your photo ID.

Q.

Is it ever too late to register?

A.

No! Even during the meeting you can still register on-line at www.aaas.org/meetings and pick up your badge on-site.

Hotel

Q.

How do I reserve a hotel room?

A.

After you register, you will receive a registration confirmation letter that will contain a registration number and a link to the AAAS Housing Bureau. Follow the link and follow the instructions to reserve a room.

You can also reserve rooms over the phone. Call the AAAS Housing Bureau at (800) 685-0070. They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST. Please note that you will need your registration number to book a room, either online or by phone. Rooms will not be booked without a registration number.

I reserved a room, but never received confirmation. I called the hotel and they have no record of my reservation.

A.

Call the AAAS Housing Bureau at (800) 685-0070. They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST. Be sure you have your registration confirmation number.

Q.

I have a change to my hotel reservation, what do I do.

A.

For changes at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on or before 26 January or changes at the Fairmont on or before 26 January please call 800-685-0070. For changes after these dates, call the hotel directly and make sure you have your hotel reservation confirmation number. The Hyatt Regency Chicago's phone number is (312) 565-1234 and the Fairmont Chicago's is (312) 565-8000.
