Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Oregon

Location

Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is located in Harney Basin in southeastern Oregon and is one of the largest inland wetlands in the United States. The Refuge spans an area 40 miles long by 39 miles wide and is shaped like a lopsided "T." (Detail map pdf)

Status

During the reconnaissance studies, there was no evidence that irrigation drainage was causing significant harmful effects. The NIWQP is no longer involved at this location.
