Assistant Vice President, Performing Rights - N922

Responsibilities / Duties

Provide strategic and tactical analysis of needs within Performing Rights and develop and manage solutions. Perform strategic planning analysis of royalty distribution processes, both domestically and internationally. Prepare distribution forecasting and analysis, financial analysis and interpretation and earnings trends and productivity analysis. Preparation and presentation of regular executive summaries. Review and approve royalty adjustments. Provide proactive input into distribution methodology for existing and new media. Evaluate, review and assess current market trends and the effect on departmental business practices. Evaluate, review and assess internal business practices for maximum efficiency. Assess operational processes and develop reengineering strategies to implement automation and/or operations changes, on an ongoing basis. Oversight and ownership of departmental standard operating procedures, including both development and on-going maintenance. Management and review of competitive market research. Oversight of all departmental business continuity plans. Ensure affiliate relationships remain strong by acting as a key point of contact for communications with affiliates and/or their representatives. Must understand affiliates’ businesses and cultures in a constantly evolving music industry. Analyze and determine root cause for affiliate inquiries and manage towards resolution. Represent company at various conferences, panels and speaking engagements, both domestically and internationally. Directly supervise departmental employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in business (or related field) or equivalent preferred. Must possess 15+ years industry experience. This should include 10 years of direct experience in one of the following areas; intellectual property, royalties, music licensing, copyright, etc. Must possess an up to date knowledge of various music genres, writers, artists and trends and strong knowledge of, or experience within, music publishing and new media (audio, digital media markets, etc.). Must possess a strong knowledge of or experience with Intellectual Property and Copyright Law. Strong recognition and awareness of global market and trends within the music industry. Prior supervisory skills required, including day to day management of teams, conflict resolution and performance management. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook required. Proficiency in Visio and Project preferred. Ability to create, analyze and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations. Strong presentation, public speaking and facilitations skills. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality/discretion. Must possess excellent judgment combined with a solid understanding of current industry business issues, both domestically and internationally. Foreign language preferred (not required). Frequent domestic and international travel required. Also requires extended periods in the New York office and the ability to work extended hours as required by industry cycles and job/affiliate demands.

Director, Mail Center and Document Services - N925

Responsibilities / Duties

Directly and indirectly manage Mail Center Operations and Document Services staff. Management of day to day operations of the Mail Center and related services. Management of day to day operations of Document Services and related services. Lead and direct the interaction, consultation and education of company standards as it relates to print and marketing, cost effective and efficient mailing and shipping/receiving practices. Perform analysis and provide statistics in relation to document output, process development, and controls. Conduct cost and volume tracking. Prepare and manage department budget. Provide purchasing with detailed specifications for expenditures as required for competitive bidding, in order to ensure cost control and competitive pricing. Interact with purchasing to perform bid analyses and vendor evaluations. Interact with vendors and maintain shared relationships with purchasing. Act as a liaison between various committees and General Services for facilities issues and projects. Perform general facilities duties as directed by the Vice President, General Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 7 - 10 years experience in a corporate mail center and print shop environment. Prior experience in facilities management or support services strongly preferred. Minimum 3 - 5 years prior supervisory experience. Hands on experience working with mail center, document printing and finishing equipment. Should be familiar and conversant with facility related operational equipment and technology. IGEN experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with mail center and document services policies and procedures. Experience with office space planning, facilities and building property management to include corporate office space exceeding 25,000 square feet. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience working with and maintaining database systems and reports, as well as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation/graphics. Strong proofreading and editing ability in order to prepare documents for publication and distribution. Ability to clearly communicate, both written and verbally. Ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population, and with all levels of staff and management. Able to work independently and with good judgment. Maintain flexibility in a changing, fast paced work environment. Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines. Collection Services Representative - N913

Responsibilities / Duties

Collect music licensing fees according to the payment terms in each agreement. The position also requires the employee to build customer relations in order to facilitate fee-dispute resolution. This requires interaction with licensing, accounting and licensing representatives to resolve outstanding issues. Also, collection representatives maintain collection records for follow up and review. Make and record collection telephone calls. Review and advance delinquent accounts by moving them in the collection dunning cycle. Authorize research and reconciliation of financial disputes. Respond to customer inquiries. Notify licensing of sales opportunity and other changes in music use when alerted to such changes through customer contact. Arrange payment plans. Assist with projects, as required. Participate in collection action trials as BMI’s witness either via conference call or traveling to site of the trial. Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum 3-5 years collection experience and/or training. Manager, Financial and Operations Analysis - NY406

Responsibilities / Duties

Conduct financial and operational analysis for all areas of licensing. Assist management at various stages of licensing negotiations. Research cable networks and maintain a comprehensive Access database. Provide monthly financial analysis for revenues and expenses. Generate monthly staff meeting reports for the senior management, such as: licensing administration status report, licensing campaign report, and license summary report. Assist in market research and financial analysis of new or revised licenses. Manage Licensing Expense reports and analysis through an existing Access database and provide various reports to management. Provide specific data analysis as requested by management.
