Goat and Sheep Report for 8/30/2008

Receipts:  430    last month:  352    year ago:  351

   Compared to the last market date of Saturday July 26th classes of kid 
goats Selection 1-2 45-80 lbs 15.00 to 25.00 higher, all other goat classes 
steady to 10.00 higher. Sheep classes steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was 
moderate for a moderate supply. Offerings were made up of 71 percent goats 
and 29 percent sheep. All goats and sheep graded by MO Dept of Ag-USDA 
Graders and bought per cwt. based on in-weights at the buying station. 
Next scheduled market date will be Saturday September 27th.The Station will 
be open to accept goats from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.

Slaughter Classes:
Goats:
   Kids: Selection 1 45-60 lbs 125.00, 61-80 lbs 105.00. Selection 2
45-60 lbs 115.00.

   Feeder Kids:  Any grade 20-44 lbs 85.00 per cwt.

   Slaughter Does/Nannies:  Selection 1-2 30.00-40.00, Selection 3 25.00 
per cwt. Yearling does any grade 55.00 per cwt. Selection 1 over 120 lbs 40.00.

   Slaughter Bucks:  yearling any grade 60.00. Pygmy bucks any grade 35.00

Sheep:
   Slaughter Lambs: wooled lambs Good and Choice 1-3 under 80 lbs 80.00; 
Choice and Prime 2-4 over 80 lbs 70.00. hair lambs Good and Choice 1-3 
80 lbs and under 55.00-70.00. Choice and Prime 2-4 81 lbs and over 70.00; 
Good and Choice 1-3 50.00-60.00.

   Slaughter Ewes:  Utility and Good 1-3 25.00-35.00

   Slaughter Rams:  scarce
