JC_GR310 Jefferson City, MO Thu Sep 18, 2008 MO Dept of Ag-USDA Market News Missouri Weekly Hay Summary - Week ending 9/19/2008 The cool damp nights of early fall have arrived in the state this week. Flood waters from last weeks’ heavy rains reached levels exceeding anything reached so far this year in many areas, most waters are slowly receding now however. Fall pastures that were not underwater look good and some farmers back to thinking about final cutting of grass hay now. Hay movement remains slow and many truckers not able to find much hay to haul as of currently. Prices on hay remain steady to firm; the supply moderate to heavy and demand is light to moderate. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay hotline available for both buyers and sellers.
