2^nd United Nations World Water Development Report: Water, a shared responsibility

This 2^nd United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR2) entitled 'Water, a shared responsibility,' which was launched on World Water Day, 22 March 2006, at the 4^th World Water Forum in Mexico City, Mexico. The English version of the Report is now freely accessible online.

Drawing on an extensive database, expert analysis, case studies, and hundreds of graphic elements, the WWDR2 is the most comprehensive undertaking to date of freshwater assessment.

1^st United Nations World Water Development Report: Water for People, Water for Life

Based on the collective inputs of UN agencies and convention Secretariats of UN-Water, this 1^st Report offers a global overview of the state of the world's freshwater resources. It includes a large number of maps, figures, tables, and boxes illustrating the lessons learned all over the world. The Report was officially released in English on World Water Day 2003, 22 March, during the 3^rd World Water Forum in Japan.

This publication was a WWAP contribution to the International Conference on Freshwater held in Bonn in December 2001, and to the 1^st United Nations World Water Development Report. It reviews national policy developments since 1992, and takes stock of the eleven challenges defined by the Programme.
