Food Safety Extension Program -- Clemson University
Clemson University, founded in 1889, is one of the top public
universities in the United States. As a land-grant university, Clemson
is part of a national system created by the U.S. Congress to improve the
quality of life for citizens in every state through teaching, research
and outreach. While faculty members teach Clemson students, the
university’s statewide network of Public Service Activities (PSA)
conducts research and outreach programs to improve the quality of life
for citizens in South Carolina. Food safety is one of the key outreach
programs.
The Food Safety Extension program, housed in the Department of Food
Science and Human Nutrition, focuses on providing current and relevant
food safety information to all points of the food chain from farm to
