Drying

  • Features of dehydrator trays
Drying trays need to be easy to clean and allow for air circulation. Electric dehydrators come with plastic trays with holes in them for air movement. Solid plastic tray inserts are available for pouring liquid fruit leathers, to avoid drippage.

  • Removing fruit slices from anti-darkening solution
Apple rings soaked in an ascorbic acid solution should be drained well before placing on dehydrator trays. Clean paper towels can be used.
