Q. What is the 1 Meter Digital Orthoimagery Quarter Quadrangles (DOQQ)

A. A Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle (DOQ) is a computer-generated image of an aerial photograph in which the image displacement caused by terrain relief and camera tilt has been removed. The DOQ combines the image characteristics of the original photograph with the georeferenced qualities of a map.

DOQQs are black and white (B/W), natural color, or color-infrared (CIR) images with 1-meter ground resolution.

The source data is the original USGS DOQQ's, but have been made available as a seamless product. There is a limited area for the initial release. As more data is loaded, they will be incorporated into the seamless system

Q. When will more 1 meter DOQQ data become available

A. All of the current (as of June 2005) have been loaded to the seamless database. The next process will be to update the database with new updates of DOQs. Due to the size of DOQQ database, this will take some time. The best way to see availability is to check the index every month to see new coverage areas and check the metadata for the source date of the DOQs.
