Funding Opportunities
Funding for State-Based Arthritis Programs
The CDC Arthritis Program seeks to build the capacity and resources
necessary to implement public health arthritis activities. Currently, 12 states
are funded by the CDC through cooperative agreements with
state health departments. These state-based programs aim to decrease the
burden of arthritis and improve the quality of life among people with
arthritis. Read more about the states currently funded.
Current Cooperative Agreement Opportunities
- The CDC Arthritis Program is not currently funding any new state
cooperative agreements. The current state project period will begin on June 30, 2008 and end
on June 29, 2012.
Funding for Extramural Research
CDC conducts or supports research to strengthen the public health
science base for arthritis. Public health programs need to be based on
sound science. CDC research projects better define risk factors for the
development and progression of arthritis, improve surveillance methods to
better define the impact of arthritis, and evaluate the effectiveness of
interventions to improve self management attitudes and behaviors among
people with arthritis. Read about our extramural research projects.
Current Research Grant Opportunities
- The CDC Arthritis Program is not currently funding any new
extramural research projects.
