ALA Personal Membership Application

Membership in the American Library Association (ALA) is available to individuals in the United States and abroad who are involved in librarianship or library work; those who are not in library work but wish to support the Association; and those who are currently unemployed or retired from the profession. Membership is also available to libraries as well as not-for-profit organizations that wish to support the Association.  To join, renew or add-on to your existing personal, library, or organizational membership, please choose from the options below. Please note that Continuing and Life Members of ALA require special handling and must contact Member Services at 800-545-2433 ext 5 to renew or modify your membership. Corporations can become members of ALA by calling ALA Member Services as well.

In the unlikely event that it is necessary for our office to charge additional monies, a notification of this transaction will be sent to you via email.

If you are unsure whether you have previously been a member of ALA, please contact our office at 1-800-545-2433, press option 5 for a Member & Customer Service representative.
