Corporate Users

In the face of skyrocketing natural gas prices and escalating energy rates, companies across America are seeing the benefits of landfill gas energy. Beyond the environmental gains of reducing greenhouse gases and air pollutants, companies are realizing millions of dollars in cost savings by offsetting fossil fuel purchases. With hundreds of landfills still untapped, LMOP has assisted a growing number of corporations with facilities across the nation in assessing project opportunities.

BMW wants to do whatever it can to make Upstate South Carolina a better place to live. This LFG energy project allows BMW to take a wasted source of energy and use it to generate electricity, which benefits the environment and area residents through lower emissions.

LMOP can be a resource to corporations by:

  • identifying project opportunities with existing facilities
  • quantifying landfill resources
  • performing gas generation analyses
  • developing cost feasibility data
  • providing Partner expertise to project participants
  • promoting project benefits and recognizing Partners

Below are just some of the resources available from LMOP that may assist corporations in taking advantage of landfill gas energy. If you are a company interested in using landfill gas, please contact Rachel Goldstein (goldstein.rachel@epa.gov), LMOP Program Manager.
